Boys Ice Hockey: New Canaan vs. Darien

The Blue Wave-Rams rivalry returns to the Darien Ice Rink and to HAN Network

Watch Darien and New Canaan boys ice hockey’s first meeting of the 2015-16 season, as was carried live on the HAN Network on Tuesday, Dec. 29. You can watch it for free, on-demand, below.

This is the first of meetings between the Blue Wave and Rams this regular season at the Darien Ice Rink. This one does not count as an FCIAC game — that will come in January.

With a large crowd in tight quarters, we were limited in our camera angles for this broadcast — which was frustrating after starting the season with great sightlines at Bennett Rink in West Haven. So keep that in mind as you watch the game below.

Here’s Tuesday’s complete game broadcast in high definition. (If you don’t see the player window, click here to watch):

Upcoming games and more

The HAN Network will be covering numerous events throughout the FCIAC’s winter season, including ice hockey, basketball, wrestling, swimming and diving, and the conference’s postseason championships.

The next boys ice hockey broadcasts is Notre Dame-West Haven at Darien on Monday, Jan. 4.

Basketball and wrestling make their HAN Network debut next week with Ridgefield vs. Trumbull wrestling on Wednesday, Jan. 6, and Danbury vs. Norwalk boys basketball on Thursday, Jan. 7.

The HAN Network, formerly known as Hersam Acorn Newspapers, is the exclusive FCIAC broadcast partner through the spring of 2018. HAN Network’s broadcasting division replaced HANRadio.com with a new focus on live video streams of high school athletics along with the Network’s news and lifestyle programming.

Along with Connecticut high school sports contests, HAN broadcasts a daily news program, Coffee Break, focusing on southwestern Connecticut at 11 a.m. and a sports talk show, Nutmeg Sports, Monday-Wednesday. You can watch all the shows at live.HAN.Network or on demand at live.HAN.Network/han-on-demand/.
