On the Thursday, June 8, episode of Nutmeg Sports our postseason coverage rolls on like the Blue Waves boys lacrosse win streak. With 4 FCIAC baseball squads, 3 FCIAC boys lacrosse teams, and the St. Joseph softball team in action on Wednesday all looking to advance to state championship games, the HAN Network continues to keep you up to date on the 2017 CIAC spring state tournaments.

First up on today’s show our hosts breakdown the Class L and Class M boys lacrosse semifinals from Wednesday night. Darien looked to extend their win streak to 53 games and advance to their 4th straight CIAC championship game. The Blue Wave were matched up against the No. 5 Glastonbury Tomahawks in the top half of the Class L bracket, on the bottom of the bracket No. 6 Wilton took on No. 7 Cheshire. In Class M New Canaan, looking to win their third straight CIAC championship, squared off against the top seed New Fairfield from Brien McMahon.

Also in action, after being postponed on Tuesday, were the semifinals of the baseball tournaments. Staples, Ridgefield, and Danbury were still alive in Class LL with Amity as the 4th and final team. In Class M No. 34 St. Joseph put their cinderella run on the line against No. 3 Waterford.

Finally, our hosts look ahead to Saturday’s championship games and break down who will take home state titles in 2017 and why.
