As of Tuesday at 11 a.m. the weather forecast for Fairfield County is calling for less snow than earlier expected. Snow totals around New Canaan were close to 7 inches at 10 a.m. and the National Weather Service is now saying up to 9 inches will be the total for this storm.
Tuesday
Sleet, possibly mixed with snow. The snow and sleet could be heavy at times. Areas of blowing snow after 2 p.m. High near 28. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Windy, with a north wind 22 to 28 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 5 to 9 inches possible.
Tuesday night 
A 30% chance of snow showers, mainly before 9 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 18. Wind chill values between 5 and 15. Blustery, with a northwest wind 16 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph.
Wednesday
Scattered snow showers, mainly after 11 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 30. Wind chill values between 5 and 15. Northwest wind 14 to 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Wednesday Night
Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. Wind chill values between 5 and 15. Northwest wind 13 to 15 mph.
