In a race with no incumbent challenger, two long-time New Canaan residents — who both have experience in local government — are facing off Nov. 7 for the town’s top office.

The HAN Network was in Waveny Park in New Canaan Wednesday, Oct. 18, where we spoke to Republican Kevin Moynihan and Democrat Kit Devereaux. Before HAN went live with live FCIAC cross country, we spoke to both candidates about cell service, commuter parking and more local issues.

Moynihan, a Republican and Town Council member, won his party’s nomination in a July caucus, defeating incumbent First Selectman Rob Mallozzi III. Moynihan is a retired corporate attorney.

Watch Kevin Moynihan’s interview below:

Devereaux, a Democrat, has previously served on the Town Council and is currently on the Parks and Recreation Commission.

The two candidates both appeared at a recent Candidates Night Forum. Read the New Canaan Advertiser’s story here.

The HAN Network will have live results and analysis from around Southwestern Connecticut on our Election Night broadcast. Watch it live, Nov. 7, at 8 p.m. on HAN.Network.
