Greater Bridgeport Symphony Conductor Eric Jacobsen gives us a preview of an upcoming show, discusses his passion for music

HAN Arts & Leisure with Sally Sanders, Steve Coulter and the “Reel Dad,” Mark Schumann, take a look at movies, the arts and other events going on in Fairfield County, Connecticut, and Westchester County, New York — and the surrounding area.

This week, Sally, Steve and the HAN studio crew are treated to a beautiful live performance by Eric Jacobsen of the Greater Bridgeport Symphony. Jacobsen, the director/conductor of the Symphony is a  renowned cellist and his performance illustrates themes in Mahler’s 5th Symphony, a preview for this weekend’s show. He also discusses his career, love of music with Sally and Steve.

Jacobsen will be conducting Mahler’s 5th Symphony, “The Gian” this Saturday, March 12 at The Klein. If you miss this Saturday’s event, the Greater Bridgeport Symphony will be hosting “The Northern Lights — A Celebration” on April 9. Get ticket information here.
