Boys hockey playoffs start Saturday

Games set for 12:50, 6:30

The HAN Network will have live coverage of the FCIAC boys hockey quarterfinal playdowns as part of a triple-header live from the Darien Ice House Saturday, Feb. 24.

Based on the current standings, Darien would play New Canaan at 12:50 p.m., and Fairfield would take on Staples at 6:30 p.m.

The six FCIAC boys ice hockey tournament teams have clinched, with Greenwich and Ridgefield receiving first-round byes. The rest of the field will include Darien, Staples, Fairfield and New Canaan, although their order of finish is dependent on the results of Friday’s games.

Coverage of the boys ice hockey tournament will continue with the semifinal doubleheader live from the Darien Ice House Wednesday, Feb. 28, and the final on Saturday, March 3.

The HAN Network will also cover Saturday night’s FCIAC girls ice hockey final between New Canaan and Greenwich live from the Darien Ice House at 8:30 p.m.

Hockey coverage will be online only.

Saturday will also feature coverage of all four FCIAC boys basketball quarterfinals live from Fairfield Warde High School. That coverage will also be carried by Vantage Sports on Frontier.

On demand: After the the live broadcast ends, the game is then available on demand to HAN Network subscribers. Due to processing time, It may take up to three hours after the conclusion of the game until the game is ready for viewing.
