Casey talks about what inspired him to post the article on The Players’ Tribune and what life is like after concussions. From his first concussion at age 11 in youth football up to this 13th at the age of 20 at as the starting quarterback for the University of Connecticut, Casey describes the difficulties of not only dealing with his symptoms but also the hardships of guilt from hiding so many of them. Casey talks about his trip before the Connecticut Senate and his push for a bill to raise awareness of the dangers of concussions, and preaches how important it is at the youth level. Finally we hear about his plans next week to join a speaking tour in Alabama, to share his message and goals with high school coaches throughout the state.
Next Frank looks back at our live coverage of the 9th Annual Grip it & Rip it 7-on-7 passing tournament from New Canaan last weekend. The HAN Network was on site for live coverage of the final 4 games of the tournament that saw Cheshire Academy defeat The Brunswick School in the Championship game Saturday Afternoon.
Finally Frank checks in on the Connecticut 13u Babe Ruth State Tournament and gets ready for our live coverage starting Thursday night with a semifinal double header. First pitch for game 1 is set for 5:30, game 2 is scheduled for 8 pm. Friday’s championship game will start at 7.
