On the Tuesday, July 26, episode of Nutmeg Sports Frank Granito and Donald Eng get to talk with the new Athletic Director for Trinity Catholic Bob Robustelli, as well as looking into some of the events taking place throughout the state right now.
Frank and Don are joined at the start of the show by Bob Robustelli, the new Athletic Director for Trinity Catholic. The three talk about what it meant to Bob to accept this position at his alma mater and how he went from coaching Little League for the past 30 years to becoming the AD. Bob talks about what changes we can expect to see at Trinity in the upcoming years along with his goals for each of the athletic programs. Bob also goes into detail on the renovation project of the football field and its status as the season quickly approaches.
Next the guys look at the live leaderboard of the 82nd Connecticut Open being held at Woodway Country Club this week, they talk look back at the Trumbull Rotary’s 5k Sunset Run and it’s individual and team champions. The guys also look back at former Greenwich High swimmer Jack Montesi and his pursuit of qualifying for the Olympics in Rio.
Finally Frank and Don look back at this past weekends Battle of the Sexes at the Ball Park at Harbor Yard, and wrap up the remaining All-Star Baseball teams and their playoff pushes.
