On the Thursday, March 1, episode of Nutmeg Sports our hosts look back on Wednesday night’s FCIAC semifinals in boys hockey. Greenwich defeated Fairfield 10-4 in the first game and Ridgefield prevailed 2-1 over Darien in game number two.

We’ve got highlights and a full breakdown of both boys hockey games as the stage for the 2018 FCIAC Championship is set. Senior captain Alex Mozian scored three goals to lead the Cardinals in game one and sophomore Nikita Kovalev picked up seven points (2 g, 5 a) in the win.

In the second semifinal junior goaltender Sean Gordon made 29 saves and the Tigers got goals from Matt Walker and Braeden McSpedon to take down Darien 2-1. Ridgefield is the defending conference and state champion and looking to become the first school to win back to back FCIAC titles since they did it in 2012 & 2013.

Plus we get you ready for tonight’s boys basketball FCIAC championship game at the Zeoli Field House in Wilton. No. 3 Danbury and No. 5 Trumbull tip off at 7 pm. Danbury edged No. 2 Trinity Catholic, 43-40, in the semifinals and are looking to win their first FCIAC title since 1992.
