On the Monday, March 19, episode of Nutmeg Sports, Frank and Kevin are back in studio and breaking down the official end of the winter season. With the final championships being played over the weekend our hosts look back at this season’s champions and some of the winter’s best moments.
First up, Frank and Kevin look back on Saturday’s division 1 boys ice hockey championship game between No. 1 Fairfield Prep and No. 2 Greenwich. Despite holding a 2-1 lead heading into the 3rd period Greenwich was unable to end it’s 26 year state championship drought as the Jesuits stormed back to win their program’s 14th state title by a final of 4-2.
Our hosts look back on Prep’s undefeated run through Connecticut hockey this season along with Notre Dame of Fairfield’s first ever boys basketball state championship, as the Lancers defeated Sacred Heart from Mohegan Sun on Saturday night.
