The 50th FCIAC Football Championship pits two rich rivals in undefeated Darien (8-0) and New Canaan (8-0). You can watch the entire game, as broadcast live by the HAN Network, on demand for free here.
For the second consecutive year and the third time since 2008, New Canaan and Darien will play for the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference championship as the 22nd annual Turkey Bowl — also known as Turkey Bowl XXII — doubles as the conference final.
Last year’s FCIAC championship between the Rams and Blue Wave went into overtime. Darien won it but New Canaan came back and won the rematch in the Class L state championship. There will be no rematch this year — no matter what happens — because Darien was bumped up to Class LL for the state tournament. In 2008, New Canaan topped Darien 28-20 for the FCIAC crown en route to a 13-0 season and the state’s top ranking.
