After seven days of driving all over Fairfield County, the HAN Cruiser pulled into its 17th and final school on the FCIAC Tour on Tuesday, Dec. 15: Greenwich High School.
The stop included the most team interviews conducted at one school — 13 — on the winter or fall FCIAC Tours. The Cardinals look to competitive in most sports this season — as we learned from talking to their captains on the HAN Cruiser (it was too windy that Tuesday to set up our interviewing tent outside).
We traveled to all 17 league schools in December to interview the winter captains and coaches before we start our second full season of live high school sports broadcasts in southwestern Connecticut. The tour started on Monday afternoon, Dec. 7, at Darien High School and concluded in Greenwich. You can check out the other interviews at this page or on our YouTube Channel. We’ve be posted all the interviews — about 150 — this week. You can find them organized by school on this page.
There are nearly 30 games on HAN’s winter schedule that include eight sports: Boys and girls ice hockey, boys and girls basketball, wrestling, gymnastics, boys swimming and indoor track. You can check out the winter schedule at this link. (Note: It is subject to change as the season progresses.)
The Cardinals will be part of HAN Network’s first live gymnastics meet broadcast when they compete against Darien on Thursday, Jan. 14. We’ll also have Greenwich girls basketball at Ridgefield on Friday, Jan. 15; and Cardinals boys swimming against Darien on Wednesday, Jan. 20. More games could be added during the season and HAN has exclusive broadcasting rights for all league postseason contests including the cheerleading championships.
Rob Adams, HAN Network’s sports director, and Dave Stewart, the FCIAC.net editor, conducted the interviews of the Greenwich athletes and coaches who joined us on Friday, Dec. 11. You can watch all the interviews below:
