In New Canaan, A man who crashed his Ford SUV into a utility pole on Old Stamford Road / Route 106 late yesterday afternoon, snapping the pole into two, walked slowly away from the car after Eversource arrived at the scene to turn off the electricity to the wires that had come down onto the car.

Police say they arrested 15 people and seized more than 500 bags of heroin during a drug bust in Hartford, according to the New Haven Register.

Bristol Police say a Connecticut man kidnapped a woman at a chapel and forced her to ride with him while he robbed a bank.

A test grading machine valued at $4,730 was reported stolen from Darien High School. A Scantron test scanner was originally reported missing from the second floor teachers’ lounge on June 13, but staff conducted an internal search before reporting the equipment stolen.

In Shelton, The height of a proposed nine-story apartment building would be cut in half under a revised proposal presented to the Shelton Planning & Zoning Commission Wednesday, July 27.

The Trumbull Police Department will host a community forum on police-community relations Wednesday, Aug. 3, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Frenchtown School cafeteria. The meeting is being co-hosted with the Greater Bridgeport NAACP and its president, George Mintz.
