It’s a solemn day for the state, marking the three year anniversary of the Sandy Hook school shooting. It is the first time the anniversary has fallen on a weekday.

Connecticut State Troopers warn citizens about falsely reporting incidents and making threats that require law enforcement to respond. Police say types of events are deceptive and will result in arrests for those fabricating reports or intimidating others.

Darien police are investigating a pair of residential burglaries that occurred on Dec. 4 on Oak Crest.

A data review of police departments statewide shows that the Ridgefield Police Department is far more likely to pull drivers over than police in most towns, officer to officer.

If you are taking the train instead of driving, you should know that A 1% fare increase goes into effect Jan. 1 on the Connecticut portion of Metro-North Railroad’s New Haven Line.

A memorial service was held Saturday for the Easton couple police believe were murdered by their son.

Police say 134 people were arrested over the weekend during a protest of hiring policies at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

The Darien Board of Education approved the creation and hiring of a new special education director position at the board of education meeting last week.

The 2015 Valley Toys 4 Kids Campaign is underway and TEAM, Inc. is hoping to provide over 1,300 needy Valley children with something special under their Christmas tree this year. This campaign collects new, unwrapped toys for the under-served children in our communities.
