Celebrate Shelton promoting small business, community

Handmade markets, tree lighting event and more coming up

Kate Czaplinski, host of HAN’s Coffee Break news show, is joined Wednesday, Nov. 18 by Nicole Heriot-Mikula and Jimmy Tickey of Celebrate Shelton.

Celebrate Shelton is a city-wide initiative focusing on small businesses. It was started by small business owners, Michael Skrtic, of The Glass Source and Heriot-Mikula, of bringtheHoopla — along with Tickey.

The initiative, which works with the city and other organizations in Shelton, is about a year old and has several events planned for the upcoming holiday season.

Events include:

  • Friday, November 27: Plaid Friday Handmade Market Kick-Off Celebration
  • Saturday, November 28: Small Business Saturday Market
  • Friday, December 4: Community Tree Lighting
  • Saturdays, December 5, December 12, December 19: Holiday Handmade Market
