Darien will host another national powerhouse in the first night lacrosse game in Blue Wave history when the HAN Network opens its spring season Friday, April 6, at 6:30 p.m.
The Blue Wave, riding a 56-game win streak and ranked second in the nation, will entertain Torrey Pines High School from California, ranked seventh in the country.

Darien opened its season beating Yorktown, N.Y., Saturday night. The Blue Wave received big offensive performances from Brian Minicus, Logan McGovern and Jack Joyce, who combined for 11 goals and 18 points. Minicus led the attack with six goals and four assists; McGovern had three goals and one assist; and Joyce had two goals and two assists.
Darien, the top team in the state of Connecticut, was also recognized in numerous polls as National Champions in 2017. Head Coach Jeff Brameier enters his 35th season and has led his team to four consecutive state and FCIAC titles (2014-17).
The Torrey Pines Falcons fly to the East Coast with a record of 7-0, perched in first place in the CA 1 standings. Head coach Jono Zissi enters his eighth season at the helm and has won two CIF titles, three CIF Finalist trophies, and four Avocado League titles.
Frank Granito, John Kovach, and Kevin Coleman will be on the call.
