The rivalry moves from the gridiron to the ice as Darien and New Canaan face off for the first time since the Turkey Bowl.

The New Canaan Rams dropped their first two games of the season to Notre Dame-West Haven, 3-2 and Hamden, 12-6. The Rams have a new look this season with coach Clark Jones, and are looking to replace 15 graduating seniors. Last season, the Rams finished 16-3-1 overall and 9-1-1 in the FCIAC. This season the Rams will rely on captains, Gunnar Granito, Quinn McMahon, and Chase Glover to get them back in the postseason to contend for a title.

The Darien Blue Wave have also dropped their first two games of the season to Hamden 6-4 and Fairfield Prep 5-2. Darien head coach Mac Budd returns for his third season and he knows a thing or two about this rivalry not only as a coach but as a former hockey player with the Blue Wave program. Coach Budd is excited to show the type of speed his team has with players like Bennett McDermott and Will Johnstone on the first line as well as the leadership of his captains Hunter Hazelton, Connor McCarthy, and Will Dickson.

Frank Granito, John Kovach, and Kevin Coleman will be on the call.
