Live Thursday: FCIAC Boys Basketball – Greenwich @ Darien

The HAN Network will be broadcasting live from Darien High School as the Blue Wave host the Greenwich Cardinals in FCIAC boys basketball on Thursday, December 21 at 7:00 pm.

The Greenwich Cardinals look to get their first win of the season, as they have dropped their first two games to Stamford and Notre Dame-West Haven. The Cardinals have a new look this year as they bring in a new coach and look to replace an impressive senior class due to graduation. First-year coach Philip D’Amato brings a new style to the program at and is looking forward to the challenge of getting this team not only farther in the Class LL tournament, but to get into the conference tournament this season. Replacing sharpshooter Connor Harkins will be difficult considering he averaged 20 points per game last season, but senior captains Matt Robbins and Elias Giannopoulos are ready to prove they have the size and speed to make Greenwich a contender this year.

The Blue Wave opened its season with an impressive 72-37 victory over University Monday night and look get a winning streak going to start the year. Last season, the Blue Wave had one of the best seasons in program history, finishing the regular season with a record of 12-4 in the FCIAC 14-6 overall and qualifying for both the FCIAC and Class LL tournaments. The 2017-18 Blue Wave team has a great mix of upperclassmen and underclassmen who will provide quality minutes, led by senior captains, Andrew Darby and Jack Tierney, leading the quest to repeat as FCIAC East champs.

On demand: After the the live broadcast ends, the game is then available on demand to HAN Network subscribers. Due to processing time, It may take up to three hours after the conclusion of the game until the game is ready for viewing.
