Watch the first game of a boys lacrosse doubleheader in the annual Battle of the Sound, that pits Connecticut vs. Long Island teams

Connecticut’s Darien Blue Wave and Long Island’s Manhasset Indians meet in Game 1 of the 2016 Battle of the Sound at Tiger Hollow in Ridgefield. Ridgefield takes on Garden City, N.Y., in Game 2 on Saturday, April 16. You can watch Game 1 below live (or later on-demand) in the player below. Darien, the defending Connecticut Class L and FCIAC champion, takes on Manhasset, N.Y., at 1 p.m. Darien is a perfect 4-0 and has impressive wins over Yorktown, 12-3, and Niskayuna, 20-16, already this season. The Wave is No. 5 in the latest Under Armor/Inside Lacrosse national rankings.

Manhasset is also unbeaten at 6-0 record and is ranked 18th nationally. In last year’s Battle of the Sound, Darien defeated Manhasset, 7-3, while Ridgefield defeated Garden City, 8-7.
