The FCIAC baseball (regular) season all comes down to Wednesday in Danbury (mostly). The Staples Wreckers come to town in control of their own postseason destiny and the Hatters needs a win and a little help to clinch the final playoff spot.
You can watch the Wednesday, May 18, game live (or later on-demand) in streaming HD from Danbury High School in the video player below:
Staples, at 9-6 in the FCIAC, holds is in a three-way tie for sixth place and would be seeded in the eighth and final playoff spot if the season ended Tuesday. Danbury, at 8-7, is tied for ninth place with Ludlowe, which beat the Hatters earlier this season.
If the Wreckers win, they make the playoffs. If Danbury wins and Ludlowe (at McMahon today) loses, the Hatters make the playoffs. They also could make the postseason with a win other help, which we hope to explain on today’s broadcast.
This is the final day regular season action in the FCIAC. HAN Network will kick off its playoff coverage with baseball on Friday and boys lacrosse on Saturday. You can find more details here.
