We’re going down to the Sound and getting a bit salty on this week’s Yankee Fisherman on the HAN Network Thursday at 1 p.m. at HAN.Network.
You can watch live on Thursday, July 28, (or later on-demand) in the video player below:
The guys from Plum Island Swim Baits have big news with the release of their new 10-inch-long eel bait. They’ll show us how to rig that, and reflect on their first visit to the ICAST angling trade show in Orlando, Fla., where they meet a who’s who of big names in the fishing trades.
We’ll learn how to throw that 10-inch eel and the other soft baits made by Plum Island Swim Baits, as well as other lures and live bait, when Matt LeJeune gets us in the water as his introduction to surfcasting continues. Wading into the salt, we’ll work on heaving the hook out where the big ones cruise along the coastline.
If you’re a boater on the Long Island Sound, you’ll want to know that whales have returned, and that officials are urging caution.
Yankee Fisherman, presented by The Dock Shop, airs Thursdays at 1 p.m. on the HAN Network. Previous episodes can be watched on demand or listened to as a podcast.
Yankee Fisherman is hosted by John Kovach, editorial director, host and announcer for the HAN Network. A native of New Jersey, Kovach has fished since his father first took him out as a child. Kovach fishes fresh and salt water, ties flies, dabbles in lure making and promotes conservation, including a leadership role in the Connecticut Council of Trout Unlimited.
