Yankee Fisherman returns live to HAN.Network Thursday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m. with a voyage of discovery.
Local high school students spent a week with OCEARCH as they fished for, and tagged, young great white sharks off Montauk, Long Island, and Yankee Fisherman spent a day on the water with them. Thursday, in the first of a series of reports filmed on board the ship a few weeks ago. We’ll delve into the science behind the Expedition New York, how anglers are helping achieve the goal of the mission, and look at how the experience will help students across all disciplines in a story we will continue to follow.
Then we’ll visit the Farmington, where some areas remain closed to fishing due to low water levels and high temperatures. Although certain thermal refuges are closed, there are places to fish, and as you’ll see on the show fish to be caught.
Yankee Fisherman, presented by The Dock Shop, airs Thursdays at 1 p.m. on the HAN Network. Previous episodes can be watched on demand or listened to as a podcast.
